The New Way to SuccessAdvanceProgress

Tell us about your company. What’s the mission/purpose of your startup?

When I was a young entrepreneur, with very little money and resources. I had to navigate my life around transportation and arranging my time to travel. At the time, as a young person you would need to wait for your license for at least two years in Canada. I would need to borrow a ride from a friend, wait for the bus or go on a train in a suit. The most expensive part is hiring a taxi back and forth from meetings to meetings. It was definitely something that was exhausting.
I am grateful now to be in my adulthood to be in a position where I can now provide an effective solution for micro mobility, and affordable transportation. My goal is to help those young entrepreneurs like myself, who are just starting up to get their foot into the door and in life, so that they can succeed to their next destination!

We want to know about your team. Who is in your team and what do they do?

My name is Will Fan, I am the CEO of Nexpress. My background is in marketing and global investments. Bryan Hellard our CTO is a robotics engineer by trade and technical repair specialist born and raised here in Vancouver B.C, Canada. Spencer Kumo, sales specialist and partnership expert. He is very skilled and comes from a third generation Family business owner that is planning to create his own legacy. I am grateful now to be in my adulthood to be in a position where I can now provide an effective solution for micro mobility, and affordable transportation. My goal is to help those young entrepreneurs like myself, who are just starting up to get their foot into the door and in life, so that they can succeed to their next destination!

Who do you see as your target customers?

Governments, real estate property owners, rental shops, hotels, tourism and enthusiastic consumers.

What is your market information? (size, stage, etc)

We had sold over 1,000 units of ebikes and escooter during first wave of COVID-19. Currently we are serving cities like Vancouver with human population of around 3 million in the greater city region. We have some clients from neighboring provinces and in the U.S.

Could you describe your product or service?

ebikes / escooters wholesale, repair services, and replacement parts. Getting into rental programs and delivery systems as well.

What is the current stage of your business?

Hypergrowth startup, revenue model positive, and profitable during the pandemic.

What is your business model and revenue stream?

Wholesale ebike / escooter, retail shops, selling to hotel chains, real estate rental properties, tourism, communities, rental and delivery system.

Who are your competitors and what makes you different from them?

Lime & Segway. Lime is the largest global rental company system in the world, but they are not profitable due to liability and high rental fees. We can do both rental and ebikes sales of the units and that is profitable. We are fortunate enough to partner with one of China's largest aerospace companies that help us develop lightweight aerospace aluminum and aviation grade ebikes and escooters. Segway, another competitor, has current manufacturing backlog and parts replacement issues, including liabilities. We have the ability to mass produce in China the same quality of Segway products, and do repairs, servicing and replacement parts if needed.

Tell us about your company’s financial status/position.

It is revenue positive, no debt and profitable in the first year on this venture.

What are your strategies and plans for expanding your business into Korea?

I have had the chance to work with the Kotra investment team on Saemangeum, a government investment invitation only. To help build tourism and smart cities in that general area. Including building a smart warehouse on the port to be able to import / export around the world. Including sending our products from our China manufacturer to the Korean port much more efficiently. To help provide more EV delivery systems and mobile infrastructure for the projected future.

Why are you applying for this program? and How is your startup going to last in – when there’s no financial support?

We have a good relationship with Chinese aerospace manufacturers that help us develop aviation grade aluminum ebikes and escooters. We have great human abilities and skill workers including amazing resources in Taiwan, Korea and the USA.
